Corporate Translations 2013 Year in Review

2013 was an exceptional year for Corporate Translations for a variety of reasons. In 2013 alone, Corporate Translations successfully translated thousands of client projects, including patient-reported outcomes instruments, ethics correspondence, pharmaceutical-specific print materials, scientific articles, clinical trial protocols and informed consent documents among others. The company also reached its 100,000th project milestone which was a celebrated accomplishment for all Corporate Translations employees and translators.

Corporate Responsibility

In 2013 Corporate Translations focused on several corporate responsibility initiatives to improve the lives of our employees and enhance the communities we work in. The company launched internal Health and Wellness events for employees to assist in reducing stress in the workplace. The in-office events included hand and arm massages, chair massages, yoga classes, smoking cessation meetings, a Stress Management seminar, in-office flu vaccination clinics and a Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention Day including a presentation from a local breast cancer survivor.  Corporate Translations also encourages its employees to partake in an Annual Corporate 5K run by covering the entry fees and a “Bark for Life” event that allows individuals and their dogs to participate in a walk to benefit the American Cancer Society.

For the last several years Corporate Translations has offered an Internship Program for the local community that was established as a way to encourage and empower today’s youth through employment with our company. This experience exposes students to a corporate culture and teaches them how succeed in the workplace. Student participants are selected from East Hartford High School’s elite Academy of Finance. During their internships these students have worked in our desktop publishing and accounting departments learning new skills in those areas as well as how to  work on cross-departmental teams and organize their work day effectively.  Corporate Translations has staff that sits on the Academy of Finance Advisory Board to foster the ongoing relationship between our organizations. The long-term goal of the program is to see these students through to college, help them prepare for their future careers or potentially hire and promote them within our organization. Over the course of 2013, Corporate Translations employed five high school interns and five college interns, and currently has 10 full-time employees that started out in the internship program.

Finally, at the end of 2013, Corporate Translations hosted a Holiday Food Drive where employees generously donated food to local food banks in East Hartford, CT and joined forces with Adopt-a-Family to which employees donated Christmas presents for a local family in need.

2013 was an exciting and productive year for Corporate Translations. We look forward to a full 2014 both inside the office and within our community.
